AMI Förder- und Lagertechnik GmbH, based in Luckenbach in the Westerwald region, is on course for expansion. As a full-range supplier of highly complex intralogistics solutions, the specialists cover all systems and components relating to light and heavy-duty conveyor technology. Special machine construction and the continuous further development of the Smart-Flexdepot automated order picking system are also part of the company’s business focus. A number of global players from a wide range of industries rely on AMI’s modern conveyor lines and components, which are automated using proprietary software. The company invested in expanding its capacities in order to position itself optimally for the future. The intensive planning phase with a local team of architects lasted a good year from the initial idea to the ground-breaking ceremony. The background to this was that not only the expansion of the halls and offices was planned, but also a significant expansion of the machinery and its infrastructure. AMI has always stood for an immensely high level of vertical integration, which was increased to over 90 percent with the latest expansion step. This offers the advantage of the shortest possible supply chains and reliable availability at all times with consistent, top quality. Construction took a good year overall and was completed without delays despite the effects of the pandemic. With the expansion, AMI has more than doubled its spatial capacity from around 7,000 m² to 16,000 m². A new employee parking lot for 140 cars has also been added, which will soon be equipped with charging stations for electric cars in order to contribute to sustainability in this area as well. There are also plans to install a photovoltaic system in order to become greener in terms of electricity consumption. In December 2023, the employees were able to move into the new hall sections with machinery and offices. The AMI family has grown in the process, with 30 new jobs created as a result of the extensive expansion. Recently, the large extension was officially handed over for use. During an informative in-house exhibition, invited guests were able to view the new buildings, the expanded machinery, production and the company’s product portfolio. The management considers the in-house exhibition a complete success. Afterwards, guests and the entire AMI family celebrated the official inauguration and the start of a new, still expanding AMI era at a festive gala event
